MENTAL HEALTH TRIBUNALS Chambers has members who sit as presidents of Mental Health Review Tribunals and also represent patients at tribunals. Chambers has developed a broad range of expertise in the mental health field both within the tribunal and criminal justice systems. Members of Chambers regularly prosecute and defend in cases where “fitness to plead” is in issue and have considerable experience and expertise in dealing with conflicting psychiatric evidence. Members of Chambers have similar expertise in the many other areas where psychiatric and psychological evidence are crucial including the admissibility of admissions made to the police, the defendant’s failure to give evidence, the use of special measures and the imposition of restriction orders. |
